I am a clean, organized individual, and the style of my work reflects that. I personally dislike an overabundance of texture and detail. I prefer rounded shapes, smooth color, minimalism, and modernism. I have a sharp eye for aesthetics, an analytical mind well-suited for intuitive flow, and a firm knowledge of the rules of design.
I started life as a child illustrator. High school improved my drawing skills and exposed me to graphic design. College finessed my graphic design skills and taught me the basics of web design and animation.
Ty Inc. gave me my first real-world experience as an illustrator, graphic designer, web designer, and animator, and taught me asset management and large-scale production.
At Goodheart-Willcox, I have been able to employ my right-brain artistic skills in the forms of illustration and animation, as well as my left-brain technical skills in my roles as a developer and project manager. I have also discovered new talents in the form of voiceover talent.
I continue to illustrate in my spare time, and I have taken on several small-scale freelance graphic design and web design projects. These projects have allowed me to flex my creativity outside of the corporate realm and allow me to improve my web design and programming skills on my own time.
